RAC – You may seem like something classic. Your cheap sunglasses. And they’ll see right through you

Image

RAC dropped part two of his Strangers series on April 1st, which is a freaking brilliant piece of work from start to finish. The album concludes with this summer-y mix of perfection and given how it’s looking outside.. I hope this is playing on your musical devices during your morning commutes.. because I legit want to see everyone dancing around NYC this morning while I’m listening to this song as well. Game on.

Really letter rip around 3:05. Dont be shy.

It’s hard not to not be a huge FAN of FANFARLO!

Fanfarlo – ‘Reservoir‘ (2009)

I discovered this band about a month ago while on some travels through East Africa. The being in East Africa has nothing to do with this story.. other than the fact i had no one around me who would appreciate such glorious tunes. TRAGEDY!!

This is truly a special band worth telling everyone you know.

It’s an amazing blend of 1) Arcade Fire’s full orchestra compositions, including trumpets, saxophones, violins and yet still maintains that addictive pop-rock that will make your soul dance and 2) Beirut’s romantic vocals and eclectic personality.

I saw these guys in concert last week at the Brighton Music Hall in Boston and left completely blown away at how these 4 talented musicians from the UK can produce such amazing sounds.

Listen. This is one of the best albums I’ve ever listened to. My Vinyl just arrived in the mail. 🙂

Fanfarlo – Finish Line (listen to the epic trumpets at the end.. goosebumps)

Fanfarlo – Harold T Wilkins or How to wait for a very long time (SO CATCHY – amazing bass line and chorus to sing a lot with!)

Fanfarlo – Good Morning Midnight (a beautiful instrumental)

Fanfarlo – Ghosts (awesome Arcade Fire-like rock out at the end!)

Fanfarlo – Luna (a song so magical.. and so loved by Lizzie all the way in Aus.. that i streamed the song live for her from the concert so she could soak it all in.. 🙂

RIGHT?!?!?!??!?!!??!

..and to share something really great.. I choose… THESE THREE SONGS!

Happy Halloween weekend everyone!

My sister’s on her way to Boston for some music (We Were Promised Jetpacks) and hopefully a sunny weekend to boot!

Here’s some fun songs that’ll help put you in a great mood for a beautiful Fall weekend! Guaranteed.

Bombay Bicycle Club – Always Like This (if the start of the song doesn’t make you dance.. just wait til the last half of this song.. its UNREAL)

Givers – Saw You First (this song has three drastically different parts.. all which will take you to a new level of happiness)

Canon Blue – Indian Summer (wow.. just found this thanks to my buddy Roman.. a GREAT song.. reminds me of Sufjan Stevens)

For those Saturday morning Sleepyheads..

Here are a few tunes I am sharing from Plummer HQ’s in Toronto, Canada. Tried to cover a range of genres to see if you can unlock a new musical side!

Happy weekend times!

Summer Camp – Better Off without You (sounds like a fun summer song from the 80’s!)

Ra Ra Riot – Each Year (Absofactor remix) (a slowed down version of the Original indie-rock gem, so we can soak it in a little better)

Battles – Inchworm (the genre is called ‘Warp’.. and sounds kinda like El Ten Eleven meets Ratatat)

Little Stevies – Leap of Faith (a nice cheery, acoustic pop song with a killer voice)

Passion Pit – Sleepy Head (Starsmith remix) (a wonderful strip down of the this epic Passion Pit song)

Rubblebucket – Silly Fathers (some indie-pop funk!)

Bad meets Evil – Lighters (feat. Bruno Mars) (Eminem’s rapping in this is unreal..)

Thursday’s Three for the Musically Thirsty

I’ve blogged about him before, but I just found some older songs by this super-hipster, super-quirky, super-fun indie-pop outfit from NYC, Darwin Deez, that I wanted to share.

Here’s the link to my previous post which speaks pretty highly of their first full length album! It’s unreal!

Darwin Deez – Hey Mom

Dawin Deez – The Coma Song

Darwin Deez – Radar Detector (this one is on their album.. i just wanted to re-share it..:)
